The 14th hole shows its continuing great potential, despite lack of maintenance. (June 2023)
The greens were left unwatered and without nutrients and have deteriorated almost beyond repair. The roughs on some holes are now overgrown with grass over three feet high. (June 2023)
The 10 year old clubhouse is spectacularly situated with forest views reaching out to Saratoga Passage near Camano Island. It was seriously damaged by broken pipes and requires extensive repairs. The new owner indicates he will convert this not to golf club use but for his pastoral retreat.

Eaglemont golf course was named one of the top 10 public courses in Washington state. Located just east of Mount Vernon in the rolling Cascade foothills, it features beautiful vistas of Mount Baker, many elevation changes and an exciting challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Sadly, the course was closed by its foreign owners as Covid was just emerging in spring of 2020. Then, in May of 2022 it was sold to a non-profit called Beacon Hill, whose leader said he did not have the financial ability nor the interest to open the course. Instead, he announced plans to convert the property to a pastoral retreat center -- a use not allowed by the City's Planned Unit Development that required the land be used for a public golf course. In March 2023, homeowners in the Eaglemont community filed legal action against Beacon Hill asking the Court to appoint a receiver to restore and sell the course to an owner who would bring it back to life. The attorney for Beacon Hill asked for a trial which has been set for some time in October or November. The Eaglemont homeowners pursuing this legal action are asking for help with the legal fees needed to restore the course. For details about the legal action and the reasons why taking it will almost certainly result in restoring the course, please review the Eaglemont Legal Activity page. To help restore Eaglemont please fill in the brief form and we will send information about how you can contribute. We will also put you on our email list so you get the latest information about any progress toward restoring this course, clubhouse and community.
